To the untrained eye, there’s probably not much difference between what I wear on a given weekday and throughout the weekend. Though I usually forego a tie on the weekend unless there’s an occasion for it, a lot of my wardrobe can be dressed both up or down.
For a Saturday stroll through Chelsea, a pair of chinos, a dress shirt and grey merino wool sweater goes well with a thicker wool jacket and a colorful pocket square. Effortless, yet smart.
Last weekend, after having filled up on various treats at the food market at the Duke of York Square, I made a stop in to the always interesting Saatchi Gallery to see the ‘oil room’ by Richard Wilson. As the name implies, it is a purposefully built space with the floor entirely flooded in oil, which creates a completely clear pool that both absorbs and mirrors the room itself. Standing on a platform by the entrance, the room is quite surreal (and pungent) and rather confuses one’s perception of the space. Should you be in the neighborhood, make sure to pop and just follow the smell to the lower ground floor
